Air quality data in the City of Banja Luka

Air quality monitoring in Banja Luka is carried out thanks to the cooperation between the Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska and the City of Banja Luka. The collected data serve not only as a basis for informing the public, but also as an important tool for planning and implementing measures to improve air quality and the overall health of the population.

The noise measurement as part of air monitoring is the result of the project “Sustainable Development through Responsible Research: Strengthening ORRI in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina” (SuDe2Re), which is a sub-project of “Responsible tEerritories and Institutions eNable and Foster Open Research and inClusive Innovation for traNsitions Governance” (REINFORCING), under the “HORIZON-WIDERA-2022-ERA-01-40” program, implemented with the support of the European Union.

This initiative enhances environmental monitoring capacities through the application of sustainable innovations and the principles of open and responsible research (ORRI), providing reliable data for informed decision-making. In this way, it contributes to sustainable natural resource management, the improvement of public health, and raising awareness of the importance of environmental protection in the region.
