INSTITUTE FOR PROTECTION AND ECOLOGY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA PARTICIPATES IN THE SUDE2RE PROJECT
The Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska, Banja Luka, is actively participating in the SuDe2Re (Sustainable Development through Responsible Research and Innovation) project, implemented in collaboration with Union - Nikola Tesla University in Belgrade. This project aims to enhance capacities for the application of Open and Responsible Research and Innovation (ORRI) principles, particularly in the field of environmental protection.
Main Objectives of the Project:
- Capacity Building – Organizing workshops and training sessions for researchers and experts to deepen their knowledge of ORRI principles. At least 160 researchers and staff members are expected to participate, with at least 40% being women.
- Institutional Framework Development – Establishing ORRI support within institutions, including the creation of at least two new policies, such as a Community Engagement Policy and an Open Science Policy.
- Strengthening Collaboration – Establishing partnerships between academic institutions (at least 5), local industries (at least 3), government bodies (at least 2), and civil society organizations (at least 2) to collaboratively address environmental challenges.

- Conference: "Open Innovation and Community Engagement: Opportunities and Challenges" – Serbia
- Workshop: "Open Science and Community Engagement" – Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Workshop: "Creativity and Innovation: Local Solutions for Global Challenges" – Serbia
- Seminar: "Principles of ORRI and Their Application in Sustainable Development" – Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Development of an Online Platform for Information Exchange on Air Quality and Noise
The project is funded by the European Union and contributes to bridging science and society through responsible research and innovation.
The Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska will continue its activities within the SuDe2Re project, following trends in sustainable development and innovation in environmental protection.
