RES2FIRE PROJECT PARTNERS VISIT KOZARA NATIONAL PARK: EXCHANGING EXPERIENCES AND STRENGTHENING COOPERATION
As part of the activities within the project RES2FIRE – Models and Tools for Enhancing the Resistance and the Resilience to Wildfire in Natural Protected Areas and Wildland-Urban Interfaces, representatives of the Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska, together with other project partners, visited the Public Institution Kozara National Park on May 7, 2025. The park is a full partner in the project’s implementation.
During the visit, set in the inspiring surroundings of pristine nature and well-preserved ecosystems, the partners had the opportunity to gain deeper insight into the park’s management system, protection measures, and activities carried out in wildfire prevention and response. Special attention was given to the site-specific challenges of the park area, as well as the importance of building wildfire resilience in protected natural areas.
The visit also served as an occasion for exchanging experiences and discussing upcoming RES2FIRE project activities that will be implemented within the territory of Kozara National Park. Participants expressed satisfaction with the ongoing collaboration and reaffirmed their strong commitment to joint efforts in preserving natural resources and strengthening resilience to climate-related risks.
The meeting took place in a spirit of mutual trust, professional cooperation, and meaningful dialogue, further reinforcing the partnership ties within the RES2FIRE project.
