WORKSHOP ON CIRCULAR ECONOMY AT “ALEKSA ŠANTIĆ” PRIMARY SCHOOL
As part of the CircleAware: Driving Awareness and Accelerating the Circular Economy Transition project, implemented through the Interreg IPA CBC Croatia–Bosnia and Herzegovina–Montenegro programme, an educational workshop was held for fifth-grade students at “Aleksa Šantić” Primary School in Banja Luka.
The workshop was delivered by the team from the Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska, with the aim of introducing elementary school students to the fundamental principles of the circular economy and sustainable development.
During the workshop, students learned:
- what the concept of the circular economy entails,
- why it is important to reduce, reuse, and recycle waste,
- how their daily habits can positively impact the environment.
Through presentations, discussions, and hands-on activities, the students showed a high level of interest and actively participated in all parts of the workshop. At the end, they received educational materials designed to help them apply the acquired knowledge in everyday life.
Such activities contribute to early environmental education and represent an important step in fostering responsibility and awareness among younger generations.
