MONITORING VISIT HELD WITHIN THE FIRESAFE JEZERO PROJECT
As part of the FireSafe Jezero: Comprehensive Landscape Fire Prevention and Education Initiative, a monitoring visit was held on 23 July 2025 at the premises of the Municipality of Jezero. The purpose of the visit was to review the implemented activities and the supporting documentation for the narrative and financial report.
The monitoring team was led by Ms. Jasminka Pashaliska Andonovska, representative of the donor and official Project Officer in the project Landscape Fire Management in the Western Balkans (LFMWB), funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation – SDC, coordinated by Farmahem from Skopje, with backstopping support from Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation from Switzerland.
During the visit, original documents supporting the reports were presented, including:
- Contracts and decisions for project team members from the lead and co-applicant institutions,
- Documents developed during the reporting period such as: the Fire Safety Risk Assessment Report, Fire Safety Rulebook for municipal facilities, Fire Safety Rules, and the Evacuation Plan,
- Financial documentation and bank statements.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Leading Applicant (Municipality of Jezero) and the Co-Applicant (Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska).
The monitoring team concluded that the project is being implemented in accordance with the planned activities and timeline.
The project was recognized as an important initiative that not only improves fire protection but also raises awareness among citizens, children, and tourists about the risks of climate change and the importance of nature conservation. Participants expressed their willingness to continue cooperation and ongoing education in line with the project’s goals.
