REPRESENTATIVES OF THE iMERMAID PROJECT VISITED THE INSTITUTE

On Monday, August 25, 2025, the Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska welcomed representatives of the European iMERMAID project (Innovative solutions for Mediterranean Ecosystem Remediation via Monitoring and decontamination from Chemical Pollution).

This official visit marked an important step in strengthening the cooperation between the Institute and the iMERMAID consortium, under which the BRIDGEWAT project (BRIDGing Communities for SustainablE WATers) is being implemented.

During the meeting, the Institute presented its activities to date within the BRIDGEWAT project, particularly in the fields of communication, education, and demonstration of technologies for monitoring chemical water pollution. The iMERMAID delegation had the opportunity to learn more about the Institute’s work and technical capacities, as well as about the environmental conditions in our country.

The discussion also focused on future steps toward broader implementation of the project results and explored opportunities for new joint initiatives within other international programs.

The Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska remains a reliable partner in the transfer of knowledge and application of innovative technologies in the field of water protection, and continues its active role within the iMERMAID community.
