INSTITUTE STRENGTHENS CAPACITIES THANKS TO THE ALLERSHIELD PROJECT

Employees of scientific institutes in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have received significant equipment that will enhance their daily work. The AllerShield project recognized the importance of air quality monitoring in the project area, including new opportunities for cross-border solutions that will be available to the public in real time.

Thanks to this project, the Institute for Protection and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska, Banja Luka, and the Institute of Public Health Zadar have received new vehicles and laboratory equipment, enabling easier and faster analysis of allergenic pollen concentrations in pilot areas, particularly pollen originating from invasive plant species.

Recognizing the importance of this process, the Interreg program has supported institutions through the project in establishing the basic conditions for monitoring pollen from invasive species, contributing to better public health and environmental protection.
