Опис пројекта:
The Health Ecology and Environmental Protection Sector of the Institute of Public Health Zadar, together with partners from Podgorica and Banja Luka, has developed a project titled AllerShield, aimed at establishing and expanding a network for monitoring pollen allergen concentrations and preventing the further spread of allergenic plants and invasive alien species in the project areas.
In the City of Banja Luka, three new monitoring stations for tracking pollen allergens will be established. The project duration is 36 months, and within its framework, a web application will be developed to provide citizens with timely information on pollen allergen concentrations and air quality.
The main outcomes of the project are:
Establishing and testing a jointly developed tool—a platform for monitoring air quality, which will be accessible to the general population; and
Developing a joint action plan to prevent and reduce air pollution caused by pollen allergens.
The implementation of this project will create an innovative cross-border solution for air quality monitoring. The new monitoring platform will be available online to the wider public and all interested stakeholders, such as local public authorities, interest groups, non-governmental organizations, hospitals, and medical centers.
The AllerShield project will contribute to improving the health of the local population and addressing the need to align EU air quality legislation by incorporating biological particles (allergenic pollen grains and spores) into EU regulations and national legislation.
